Hi again Ryan,
You should still be able to get onto Maplewood and see your marks and assignments from any computer. Go to the Hapnot or Many Faces website and find the Maplewood link for students. Remember that your user name is first initial last name, and your password is your MET number (102507308). If you haven't been using this and can't get on, let me know.
For now, this is what you need to do:
2 novel double entry journals
novel projects worth 50 points
Environmental Research project (after Saving Sharks), including the writing variables chart,pre-writing organizer, notes, final copy that could be in any form but must include visuals.
Persuasive Essay (after Word Power), including pre-writing organizer, final copy (intro paragraph with thesis, 3 body paragraphs, closing paragraph)
Character dialogue (after Beautiful Junk)- write any telephone conversation between 2 very different people. Their conversation should show their character traits and have proper dialogue punctuation. They need to say 10 lines each.
Poetry assignments:
1. simile and metaphor worksheet
2. quest item poem sketch and organizer
3. quest item poem (original)
4.
5. Poetry Analysis worksheet with your favourite song
6. With My Own Two Hands pre-writing organizer
7. With My Own Two Hands- original poem expressing your "voice" on the topic
8. Who is singing this song- original poem modelled after the one on the Lit Power page.
See all instructions for this on Wikispaces. (I still have a bit to add, but most is there) Much of it can be downloaded and printed. It looks like a lot, but with exception of the research and persuasive essay, it's all pretty quick and easy. If there's something we can't get to you, either I'll figure it out, or I'll just put something in it's place that can be done on line. I'm still looking into the provincial exam.
